Port Ludlow, located on Washington State’s Peninsula, is a perfect destination for getting away, relaxing and enjoying nature. With over 33 forest trails, cider farms, produce farms, excellent restaurants and numerous outdoor and water activities, the area offers travelers a wide range of options to explore. Point Wilson Lighthouse, located in Port Townsend, Washington, is the tallest lighthouse on the Puget Sound and an important working lighthouse. Built in 1914, the lighthouse has fascinating history and it is open for the pubic to tour. In addition, The Light Keeper’s house that was originally built in 1879 has been renovated. Visitors can book a stay in this fabulous and historic house that resides on the peninsula with scenic views of the lighthouse and Admiralty Inlet. Moreover, Port Townsend is a Victorian town with numerous attractions, excellent restaurants, cafes, activities and shopping. Point No Point Lighthouse On Admiralty Inlet in Washington State, is the oldest lighthouse in the Puget Sound. Visitors can take a docent tour of the lower portion of the lighthouse, walk along the beaches, or rent the 1880 Light Keeper’s House for a fabulous stay. The isle of Guernsey in the Channel Islands is one of my favorite destinations. With a mild, Mediterranean climate, beautiful countryside and lively city port, Guernsey offers an abundance of sites and attractions for travelers. However, as restrictions on traveling ease, destinations that offer social distancing and a relaxing environment are foremost in the public’s mind. Consider Sequim, Washington on the Olympic Peninsula as a summer destination that is easily accessible by car. The 30-plus lavender farms in Sequim offer an abundance of beauty for the eyes and senses with wide-open fields to wander and enjoy in the warm sun. I just returned from a fascinating Port Gamble Paranormal Ghost Walk in Washington State. I toured the town and visited the most haunted house in the state, the Walker-Ames House. The house is renowned for its consistent paranormal activity where ghostly apparitions appear in the attic windows and central stair case; and disembodied voices speak their names! Yes, The house is spooky and the tour is fantastic with excellent history on this Victorian town. In August, my travels took me to Woodstock, Georgia, to experience an unexpected gem of a city. I kayaked, dined on delicious cuisine and visited Reformation brewery where you can enjoy amazing brews and bring your dog with you to enjoy the fun and lively atmosphere of the brewery.
